Excel allows a whole variety of applications starting from simple calculations to complex tools. The tips gathered here aim at presenting useful tips to all kind of users, from beginners to advanced users.

Some tips may seem very simple and many users know these tricks already. However, it may help some. There is no doubt that many of these tips can also be found by searching the built-in help function. Presenting a possible solution to a programming challenge in a slightly different way may help some to understand the particular command better.

Other tips may be very tricky and might not apply to a specific application you have in mind. For those situations, we have created examples that might be similar in nature

All tips shown here apply to the 2007 version of Excel; in most cases, it only takes minor adjustments to make them work in other versions. Menus that you see in screenshots may look different in other versions; the general approach to the solution remains the same.
